Holders See Off Proud Pinxton.

Derbyshire Senior Cup 3rd Round Review. Pinxton, in blue, & Alfreton their first competitive meeting. The Derbyshire Senior Cup 3 rd round provided a glut of goals, some proper local derbies and a couple of unexpected results thrown in too. Unusually, all 8 ties were played on the same day with no need for rearranged games due to postponements as in previous years.   The Derbyshire Senior Cup. 41 goals were scored in this round as the more senior clubs joined the competition, including holders Alfreton Town whose game I attended, at Pinxton’s Roofsol Arena. Pinxton 0 Alfreton Town 4. This was a first competitive meeting between the clubs and was attended by a great crowd of 403.
